I'm Alai Ganuza, a contemporary oil painter. “Alai” in basque means “happy”, and that’s precisely what I want to convey with my paintings.
I studied Fine Arts at UPV-EHU in Leioa. During that time, I really thought realism was the absolute goal in painting, but I realised that it wasn't satisfying me at all. I started to paint daily, for myself, to find out why and what fulfilled me. I began by experimenting with colors, bigger and looser brushwork, and it was... fun!Â
My vision of reality changed for good and I wish yours to change too!
