ABOUT ALAI
Hello painters! I'm Alai Ganuza, a contemporary oil painter. “Alai” in basque means “happy”, and that’s precisely what I want to convey with my paintings.
I studied Fine Arts at UPV-EHU in Leioa. During that time, I really thought realism was the absolute goal in painting, but I realised that it wasn't satisfying me at all. I started to paint daily, for myself, to find out why and what fulfilled me. I began by experimenting with colors, bigger and looser brushwork, and it was... fun!
My vision of reality changed for good and I wish yours to change too! 🩷

Learn about my Color Techniques! Color Theory explained from the beginning but in a refreshing way. Experiment with different palettes to find your artistic voice. This course can be done with any medium but since I do most oils, I also offer a Oils 101 lesson as a BONUS and some lessons against ArtBlock!
TraDigital Painting: from Pigment to Pixels (NEW!)
Experiment with expressive and loose painting but in a digital platform! We will use 4 different apps and we extract common factors so you can than apply them in any other software of your choice! You can use any device for this course! As BONUS, we will learn to make prints and other purposes of digital!
